Blue Kettle Café

Allergens and diets

What we can and cannot do. If you are unsure, ask the person at the counter — they can check the day's batch sheets.

Milk alternatives

Oat, soy and almond milk are available on every drink at no extra charge. We use Otis Oat Barista as our default oat milk. We do not stock coconut or macadamia milk.

Gluten

We keep at least three gluten-free cakes on the counter every day, and gluten-free bread is available for any toast or sandwich for an extra $1.50.

We are not a gluten-free kitchen. Flour is used daily in the bakery area and we cannot guarantee zero cross-contact. We use a dedicated toaster bag for gluten-free bread and separate tongs for gluten-free cakes. If you are coeliac, please tell us so we can tell you honestly what the risk is that day.

Vegan

Clearly vegan items on the menu: the vegan breakfast, the grain bowl, which is dressed with tahini rather than yoghurt, soup on most days, the polenta and orange cake, and the roast vegetable and pesto toastie — our pesto is made without parmesan.

Our house chai concentrate contains honey, so a chai latte is not vegan. The hot chocolate is made with a dairy-free 58% dark couverture and is vegan with a plant milk.

Nuts

Almond milk, almond croissants, the date and walnut scone and the dukkah on the vegan breakfast all contain nuts, and nuts are handled throughout the kitchen. We cannot offer a nut-free environment.

Eggs

All eggs are free range from Kerridge Farm, 40 minutes north of Riverton. We do not use cage or barn eggs anywhere, including in baking.
