Getting here

• On foot: two minutes from Marine Parade, five from the ferry terminal.
• Bus: the 12 and the 30 stop on Marine Parade, one block north.
• Bike: there is a rack for six bikes directly outside, and the courtyard gate is wide enough to wheel a bike through if you would rather keep an eye on it.

Parking

Two-hour metered street parking on Harbour Lane, free after 6:00pm and all day Sunday. A paid car park behind the library is a two-minute walk and costs $2 an hour, $9 all day. There is one accessible park directly outside the café.

Accessibility

• Step-free entry from Harbour Lane. The doorway is 900mm wide.
• An accessible toilet on the ground floor, with a left-hand transfer.
• Two tables at 720mm height with clear knee space.
• Menus in large print at the counter. Ask and we will read the specials out.
• Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere in the café, including indoors.

Dogs

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the courtyard but not in the indoor seating area — this is a food-safety rule we cannot bend. There are water bowls by the courtyard gate. Assistance dogs are the exception and are welcome indoors.

Wi-Fi and working

Free Wi-Fi for customers — ask any staff member for the password. There are power points at four of the indoor tables.

We ask people not to take calls or video meetings in the indoor seating area. Between 12:00pm and 1:30pm on weekdays we ask laptop users to move to the courtyard or the bar so that tables are free for people eating.

Children

Two high chairs, a change table in the accessible toilet, and a box of books and blocks by the window. There is no separate children's menu, but the kitchen will do half portions of most breakfast dishes.

Groups

We take bookings for groups of six or more. Smaller than that, just turn up — we cannot hold tables for pairs. Email hello@bluekettle.example with the date, time and group size.

The largest table seats ten. For more than ten we push tables together in the courtyard, which is weather-dependent.
